Update

These past 2 days has been so stressful.. My hubby has been traveling for work so me and Lily Jane have been home hanging out. This was the first time that he has been gone and I had to do everything by myself. Lily Jane has not been feeling good. On Sunday I was changing her diaper and found blood in her diaper and I freaked out, so I called the doc and they wanted to see me on Monday. When we saw the doctor they wanted to send us to give blood work and to collect poop. I hate when they have to take blood from Lily Jane because she cries and it breaks my heart. The lady taking blood tried to take it from her arms and I was freaking out because they have never taken it from her arm usually her heal. So she spent 10 minutes trying to find her vein and Lily Jane was not happy at all, then went to get it from the heal. Then we had to go back to the doctor to get the results, thankfully they came back fine. I also took the poop tubes to my doctor to show her because I was stressing about this and she told me lets not do this until we absolutely have to, I was so relieved. End result Lily Jane has a milk allergy :( So that means mommy can't have any dairy, which has been very hard and I have thought about giving up beast feeding so not sure how this is going to go. I am also, very upset because I am going back to work and worked hard pumping and freezing milk ( had 1 month) and Lily Jane can't have any of the milk because it has dairy in it :( Thats whats been going on... Has anyone had or have a baby with a milk allergy??

  1. Visiting from the link up. So sorry to hear about your stressful experience. I didn't have this issue but I actually have a few friends who have babies with milk allergies and they were breast feeding. One friend in particular gave up dairy and it was insanely hard! I honestly don't know how she did it. She drank rice milk because she herself has a peanut allergy and couldn't drink almond. I believe she got some cheese products she could eat from trader joes. It is doable but really hard. Don't beat yourself up if you don't continue on with breast feeding. What you have done so far is amazing!!

  3. I have breastfeeding for a year with my little one who has a dairy allergy. The first week was rough but it gets easier day by day. It takes 30 days for the dairy to get out of both of your situations so her diapers may look worse before they get better. A lot of stuff has dairy in it but there are some GREAT substitutes and eventually as you go, a lot of the substitutes you will like better than actual dairy stuff. If you want to email me I am more than happy to walk you through it all and to give you a substitute list. It will get better momma and your little one will be just fine!! Although it seems scary at first and seems like a lot of work it's actually pretty simple and easy. If you eat out, most restaurants have an allergy menu and are accommodating. Would love to help in anyway that I can!!
