Stressful week

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

These past 2 weeks have been a crazy ride. We are trying to sell our house yet we bought a new house!!!!! What a scary moment. We also have to keep our house very clean every time we have to show it. Sometimes people want to come at 7:30 to see the house (don't they know babies have to go to bed) so we end up having to drive around and put Lily Jane in her Pjs and try to get her to bed... I can't wait until it is over.. .

This was my Devotion today and spoke right to me.....
You see, during the weeks leading up to my "meltdown," I let my thoughts dwell on the possible negative outcome of several different circumstances and decisions, all at the same time. And without realizing it, I had spent as much time thinking and worrying about concerns, commitments, circumstances and deadlines as I did working on them.
It was not only how I spent my time, but how I spent my thoughts that left me depleted. It wasn’t until I brought it all to God, and wrote it all out, that I recognized what was happening.
Instead of escaping to the mountains where no one knows us or needs us, in today’s key verse from Matthew 11:28 above, Jesus invites us to come to Him so He can give us:
Rest for our weary hearts and minds.
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust’" (Psalm 91:1-2, NIV).
How many times do we think we can do it all then think about what if this dose not happen or we don't complete this we failed but we need to learn to give it all to the Lord and ask him to help us in do the things that need to be done and not let others tell us if we are worthy or if they value us... This has been a great message for me this week..

I just need to learn to let things go and not dwell and stress myself out. I should be grateful all the time for everything I DO HAVE!!!!!!

  3. Good luck Chelsea! I hope your house sells quickly. We had our house on the market once with two teenagers, one in elementary and a 3 year old still sleeping in a crib in our room!! I remember how nutty I was. I had to go out of town for a week at one point and almost lost my mind worrying that they were going to show the house and it would have been in complete disarray!!

  4. Good luck with everything! I know how stressful it is to pack up and head out at a moment's notice at bedtime or mealtime and also having to keep the house spotless but it will all be worth it soon! Hope it sells quickly!

  7. Oh, I remember those days. Clearly those people who request evening showings don't notice the nursery photo in the house listing (at least, ours didn't). The days of crazy showings will pass, and soon you'll be enjoying your new home. Congratulations and good luck!

  9. OH, hang in there! I am sure your house will sell! That is the absolute worst! I work in real estate part time and I cannot believe people's expectations. So many clients want to see a house at a moment's notice and make the sellers wait forever to get back into their houses! I always think, those poor people! Hang in there and congratulations on the new house!
