Lily Jane 8 Months

Dear Lily Jane,

Happy eight months! Everyday I feel like you are growing more and more and it makes me sad to know we are getting closer and closer to your first birthday.  You keep our days bright, with your new little personality. Here’s what has been going on this past month.

            Baby girl you are now 17.7 lbs. You have been prompted to size 3 diapers and are still wearing 6-month clothes. You love food most of the time and have been a good eater when it comes to trying new foods. Some of your favorites are sweet potatoes, bananas, roast chopped up, chicken chopped up, mum mums, oatmeal and pears.  Mommy is still making all of your food expect that we use the organic squeeze pouches and now you love them so much. We love to experiment with all the food to see what you will like and not like.  When it comes to bottle-feeding, you are taking about 5 bottles a day with 6 ounces in each. You love to hold your bottle all by your self now and try to be a big girl.

            There are no words to describe teething. Teething has been very rough on us.  You have been very fussy and clingy lately because of those teeth coming up. Right now you only have 1 tooth on the bottom. Everything that you touch goes straight to your mouth and drool is everywhere. You have had your first allergy experience, and it broke mommies heart because you were teething/sick/ and allergies all at once L

 

            You have started to crawl and now are into everything. There is not a second that we can take our eyes off you because you are now into everything. I love to see how fast you crawl to get to what you want. You have started to crawl all over Mommy and Daddy. You are also, trying to pull your self up on everything. At naps and bedtime you have started to sit up in your crib and play for at least 10-15 minutes before going to bed. Daddy and Mommy need to go around the house and baby proof everything.  You are starting to giggle and babble all time and have even said “mama”. Daddy is trying to get you to say “dada” and the moment you say it daddy will be so happy.  You love to interact with everyone and you reach for everyone but if mommy goes out of the room you are looking everywhere for her. Mommy has been so happy that she has gotten to spend the whole summer with you everyday. This summer we have gone to the pool, the library for story time, and on a couple of trips.  You now like to ride in the buggy at stores and look all over the place, you are going to be Mommies little shopping partner. You are going to be starting day care this month and it breaks mommies heart but I know you will enjoy playing with all the kids. Lily Jane you are incredible and I love you more than you will ever know!!!

Lily Jane 7 Months

Lily Jane 7 Months

Dear Lily Jane,

            You are 7 months already, and Mommy can’t believe it. Mommy is home for the summer and gets to hang out with you everyday and she loves it. Everyday you are getting bigger and bigger.  You have started to sleep through the night!! Mommy and Daddy are so excited J

You are growing like a weed. You love to eat at any chance you get. You are eating sweet potatoes, squash, green beans, carrots, bananas, pears, applesauce, oatmeal, and rice cereal. Your favorites are sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, and applesauce. You are wearing some 3-6 months but have moved you up to 6month clothes. For the diapers you are still in size 2 Pampers but are growing out of them and will be in size 3 very soon. You have been teething so much but still no teeth. You have an ear tag, like mommy and have to go to the doctor so they can cut it off. You are not going to be happy when they do that.

Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy……You love to just bounce.  When people hold you all you want to do is jump on their laps. Your legs are always kicking. You love your doorway bouncer and your activity jumper. You will stay in there forever and just bounce and play. You are also starting to get up on your hands and knees and I think you are inching closers to crawling… you get up on your hands then slide down and go all over the floor. You will figure it out and it will be go time, you will never stop moving. Mommy and Daddy are going to have to baby proof the house.. You love to slide backwards, and we are working on going forward. You love sitting up with your toys.

You are going to celebrate your first 4^th of July at the Lake house. LuLu has a Lake House that we come to every 4^th of July. You are going to love it when you get a lil bigger.  We came to the Lake house to spend a whole week with your Great Granny. She loves to play with you. You also went on your first boat ride and hated the life jacket. When Mommy was your size she hated the life jacket too.

I am amazed by you everyday. You have started to say “mamam” and it melts my heart every time you say it. I just can’t get enough of you.You have also started to try to crawl.. I love you ALWAYS!! 

Lily Jane 6 Months

Dear Lily Jane

I can’t believe last Sunday was you half birthday, really 6 months already Lily Jane you have to stop growing up so fast. You went for your 6-month check up and had to get 2 shots, you were not happy at all. You weighed 15.4 (28%) and height was 25 in (11%).. You are still in 3 months, and 3-6 months clothes but they are starting to get a little tight so we are going to be moving up to 6-month clothes soon. You are still wearing size 2 diapers. You are taking 2-3 naps a day but you are starting to fight taking your afternoon nap, which sometimes makes for a long evening. You are going to bed at 7:30 and getting up at 12:00ish and 4ish and 6:30. I wish you would drop the 12ish feeding but it is so worth seeing your cute little face in the middle of night. You have started rolling over in your crib and sleeping on your stomach. You are becoming a little mini me of your daddy. Everywhere we go everyone says how much you look like your daddy, but you still act like your mommy so sweet.

You are so close to sitting up on your own and we keep practicing everyday. Some of your other favorites are hanging out in your jumper, chewing on Sophie, rolling and moving all over the floor, and being held. You went to the pool for the first time, and you absolutely loved it. You were kicking your little legs so fast. Your Papaw, Uncle Cody and Aunt Melissa were there. So glad that you liked it because we will be going to the pool all summer long.

You have started to eat solids. I have been making all your food and I have enjoyed every minute of it. So far there is not a food you wont eat. The foods you have tired so far are peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce, and squash. You are still eating oatmeal as well. You are still eating 5-6oz bottles and now you want to hold your own bottles and feed your self.

You were dedicated at church this pass weekend and it made Mommy so happy. I am so happy to be able to raise you in a godly home and I can’t wait to teach you all about God. All your grandparents came and your Uncle Cody and Aunt Melissa came. You are surround by so many people that love you so much. We have enjoyed these past 6 months with you and would never change them. You bring so much joy into our lives. We love you!!!!!!

Lily Jane 5 Months

Dear Lily

Wow Mommy can’t believe you are already 5 months old. You amaze Daddy and me everyday.  You are getting your own little personality and I love it. You are starting to laugh and giggle all the time.  You make mommies heart full.  You have just started taking 1 long nap 2-3 hours a day and mommy is so proud of you. The other nap you take is about 30 minutes. You are still staying with Lulu and Nana while mommy is at work. Mommy has 25 more days until she gets to stay with you all summer long. You are no longer drinking breast milk because mommy is all dried up.  You are taking 5 oz bottles every 3 hours. You are also eating oatmeal cereal. Mommy is going to try to start giving you vegetables. I know it is going to be very messy but I am excited to enter the next milestone with you. You celebrated your first Easter, and you love chewing on the eggs. Everything you put in your hands goes straight to your mouth. You are drooling so much and are teething a lot. Can’t wait for your first tooth. You are about to jump up to size 2 diapers!! You are rolling over all the time now, so mommy and daddy can’t take their eyes off of you. You also are now sleeping in your crib now and we are so excited. You are growing up so very fast and sometimes mommy misses all the snuggles you gave me, but now I love the sweet laughs and giggling you do.

Lily Jane 4 Months

Dear Lily Jane,

Where has time gone? I can’t believe you are already 4 months old. You are growing up way to fast. At you check up you weighed 12 lbs 9 oz ( 12%) and 23 inches long (2% you are going to be short like your mommy), and your head was 39.5 cm (10%) You are eating every 2-3 hours and mommy is trying very hard to keep up with you.  We have started to give you a little oatmeal cereal at nights to make you full. Playing with the spoon is your new favorite bedtime routine.  You also, don’t really like to nurse because you have figured out there are so many things to look at and that the bottle gets you the milk faster.. You are almost all breast milk still (frozen) with a little bit of soy formula. You have officially out grown your newborn clothes and are wearing O-3 months and 3 months clothes. You are also still in size 1 diapers.

This month we have put up your Rock N Play and transition you to your crib and you have become a not so good sleeper. You were sleeping pretty much through the night and now you are only sleeping 5 hrs and then 2-3 hours. Mommy is getting very tired. I give you your last bottle anywhere from 7:30-8,then you are off to bed. We are still swaddling you, but you are starting to get out of it at night. You still don’t like naps. The longest nap you have taken is about 2 hrs, most of your other naps are catnaps for about 30-45 mins. I hope that this is just a phase and that you start to like taking naps and sleeping all night J

Oh have you found your hands!! Your hands are constantly in you mouth, with drool coming out.. I have started to put bibs on you because you are drooling all over the place and getting your clothes wet. Also, you love your orange pacifier and we can’t go anywhere with out it. Daddy says you like it so much because it is orange and TN football color is orange. Silly Daddy because you are going to be a NOLE girl!! You still love car rides and your activity mat. You are starting to lift your head and legs up all the time. In the mornings you are starting to like watching cartoons :) and are smiling and laughing all the time. You love going on walks outside in your stroller too.

First time for everything: You have started to roll over from your stomach to your back, and mommy was able to get it on video!! You love to look all around now and especially when we go somewhere. Mommy and Daddy went on their first weekend trip to Charleston and you go to spend the weekend with LuLu and Papa Bear.. You were so good and they loved having you all to themself. Mommy missed you sooo much, and was so glad to pick you back up..

I love all the little things you do, it amazes mommy everyday.. I love you so very much.
